I installed avast! anti-theft app on my galaxy phone and setup an account, restarted the phone. Then I went on to web and login, located my phone ok. But when I clicked on the siren “send” button, it did not give me any response. I had to click the “cancel” button just next to it so that the dialog box goes away. Tried to send siren command this way multiple times with no success.
The phone is not rooted, and the phone only has wifi connection (not in cellphone network). Please let me know what’s going on.
Btw, I remember seeing that after the phone restarts, the avast! app will hide itself. But I still see it there with the icon on top, in the manageable applications, and in the app list.
I did not get any error messages. I used chrome and firefox, neither of them worked. Just for the Siren function, when I click “Send”, it would not do anything. I could do “launch”, “locate”. I tried to locate the chrome log by launching chrome with this command:
chrome.exe --enable-logging --v=1
And I went under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default, I don’t see anything like a log there.
My phone is an unlocked international phone, the country code is 310, I don’t know if this has anything to do with it.
For the mobile security icon, is there a way to disable it?
I am having the exact same issue. All the other commands worked fine but for some reason nothing happens when I hit the “Send” button on the Siren command. Did you find an answer to this problem?
