I noticed essexboy helped another user to get rid of the nasty siszyd32.exe. I need help with the same virus. Just noticed it in my startup programs. Please help!

good luck and write back on your progress or if you need more help.
Thanks, I ran three programs. Superantispyware, Malwarebytes anti-malware and a boot avast!. Seems to have gotten rid of the bugger. I’m not sure if there’s a nasty rootkit that needs to be removed, though. I’m not very skilled at searching for these things.
On another note: I have McAfee. Do I disable McAfee and just run avast!? Or, do I keep my McAfee and let avast! run with it? They don’t seem to be conflicting at all.
You can not run two anti virus applications at the same time as they will confict with each other.

Thanks, Kenny. McAfee is removed. By the way, I’m totally unimpressed with McAfee. I’m sure that’s old news for this site, but seriously, it’s junk. Anyhow, I have another (stupid) question: I have a Windows firewall running – it’s the windows firewall that comes with Vista. Should I turn it off now that I’m running Avast? Also, I’ve got the freeware edition of Superantispyware. Does that program conflict with Avast? What about Malwarebytes anti-malware? I don’t think that either program is running in the background, but I’m not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. I really appreciate you guys here. This is an awesome service. It has restored my faith in humanity! (A little hyperbole is necessary once in a while.)
Do not turn off the Windows firewall as it does provide inbound protection for your system but then so does your Internet connection modem for all systems connected to it.
SUPERAntiSpyware is fine with avast! and is good to have if the system has an infection.
I prefer Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware (MBAM) but you have to purchase a one time license for real-time protection for $25US.
