Site Blocking

I am using the latest version of Avast! Endpoint Protection Suite Plus! and I run the Small Office Administration Console.

I would like to use the Site Blocking feature and block all sites except one site in particular.

Please help!

I’d think that a firewall rule would be better than the siteblocking feature?

I agree, that was suggested to me earlier as well.

I was just trying to find a simpler way of managing it and Avast! works so well with my network so far.

Do you think I should just make an allow entry in the ACL for EACH IP, there isn’t many end-users workstations that need the block.

I guess I could go that route.

I appreciate your reply, none-the-less! Thank you kindly Nannununanu!!! That’s from that Robin Williams show, right?

You said you have EPS Plus, so I assume you can do this with the avast firewall. I don’t have that, so I’m not familiar with managing it, but it seems like it would be fairly easy to create an application rule to block web traffic, except to “friends” and then to define the web server(s) you want to allow in the friends list.

or to define a packet rule like a more traditional firewall ACL…

Spend a little time with it, I bet the answer becomes obvious.

and yes, my that is from that old citcom.

[b]This information is a plethora compared to what I expected and is the utmost appreciated.

I will endulge myself in the links you have shared with me and continue to strenghten my skills so I can utilize Avast!

Thank you over and over again for your help and efforts, I am very greatful!
