recently did virus scan on “C” drive…b4 doing scan, i ckeked the properties page and size was
given as about 16.2 GB total size…
after doing scan, the report said that approx. 69GB had been scanned…
how is this possible???

Easy, they are reporting different things, the drive/partition properties is reporting a file size and avast is reporting the total data scanned. From your information, though you don’t specifically say it, it looks like you have asked avast to scan archives ?
If so avast has to unpack the archive to scan the contents, the total sum of unpacked data if going to be greater than the packed size of the archive (zip, rar, 7zp, etc.).
