Skegness ASC Virus

Hi

If anyone can help me with this I’d be very grateful. I downloaded something I shouldn’t have and every few minutes I get a message from Avast saying it’s blocked some malware which is called something like Skegnessasc.org… I’ve run an Avast scan and a Malwarebytes scan but they haven’t fixed it. Anyone know what else I can do? I can’t see anything in my programs list or in any of my files and I can’t see anything when I run Registry Editor (although I’m not really sure how to use this. Like an idiot I haven’t set automatic system backups so I can’t just do a system restore.

Please help!

Many thanks in advance

follow instructions here https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0
we need Malwarebytes and Farbar Recovery Scan Tool logs, attach the logs, 3 logs total

see below the box you write in … Attachments and other options

When done a expert will check logs and assist you … there may be several hours wait so be paitient

since you already run Malwarebytes you can skip that and go directly to FRST

This needs removing manually MBAM does not see it

Hi

I’ve run the Farbar and aswMBR scans and attached the logs. Is that everything you need?

Many thanks in advance.

Let me know if this stops it

Save this as fixlist.txt, in the same location as FRST.exe

Run FRST and press Fix
On completion a log will be generated please post that

That seems to have worked - I’m not getting Avast notifications now. I’ve attached the log.

Thanks very much, I really appreciate your help

Hi

I’ve done everything you said in the last post and I haven’t had any problems with the Skegness Malware for several days.

Again, thanks a lot for your help. Hopefully I won’t have any more problems
