Skinless avast not for 640x480 resolution

I tried the skinless avast and find the following problem:
I use a 640x480 monitor, the lower part of the GUI which has the buttons - I suppose - does not appeare :frowning:
the maximize/minimize button is disables, some times when I have such a problem with other programs I just maximize the interface and everything is ok :-
could you help me plz? ::slight_smile: ::slight_smile:

640x480 !? Are you really using that ancient monitor?
800x600 or even 1024x768 can be used on really old monitors.

Monitors are 14", 15", 17" etc. What you are refering to is the screen resolution and that is determined by your video card. If your card can’t handle higher than 640x480 it is time to get a new(er) one or if you are lucky you can add extra ram to the card (+/- Euro 2,50)

Why not just change the screen resolution to 800x600?

The size of the skinless interface is roughly 540x570. The skinless interface can only be enlarged.

Minacross, I know that it’s not good having to install another application to correct an old one but, this is a very useful if you can’t change your monitor resolution.

Screen Sizer: http://www.lkei.com/products/screensizer.asp

thanx alot Technical  , unfortunately it did not help :-\ . the program resizes the avast windows but still the lower part is hiden ::slight_smile:
something needs to be changed programatically in the interface… ::slight_smile:

The dialog should be OK on 800x600.
Mina, are you really running 640x480?? Really? :o

I’m running 1600x1200 (that is, 6.25 times larger) and still think it’s not enough… :-\

there are some very tiny sub-notebooks, such as the oqo model 1 - http://www.oqo.com - which offer only limited screen resolution. the oqo screen for example is 800x480. i hope to get my hands on one of these and would like to run avast on it.

Yeah, the OQO is pretty amazing, weighting just about 400 grams…
I haven’t had a chance to see it in real life yet though… :-\

Anyway, we’re not exactly fond of remodelling the dialog now… BTW the skinless interface was really meant just for a very limited target groups (e.g. blind people who have been asking for a skin-free GUI since Day One).

Thanks
Vlk

I have no problem using skining avast ;D just did not like the idea of not being able to use this new nice feature :-\
