I’ve just upgraded to Internet Security mode and I’m playing with the Sandbox facility. Firefox runs OK in or out of it (is there anyway of extracting downloaded files - eg email attachments - from this mode?), but I can’t get it to run Skype in that mode even when it’s entered in the “always run virtualized” list. Skype also hasn’t picked up on the right-click context option. What am I missing?
yeah for some reason, some programs executables lack the sandbox context menu, and that’s the case of Skype…just tried again now, by just adding skype to the list) and it just crashes.
I guess something is detected, what…I got no idea, that tells Avast that a program can’t be virtualized, may be there’s an invisible black list, populated with programs that don’t work sandboxed…as to why Skype in particular doesn’t, I don’t know. pk, the dev in charge of the sandbox @ avast, might tell us more about that…
