Slow or impossible to wake from sleep because of Ransomware shield

After I installed the Ransomware shield, my iMac was very reluctant to wake from sleep - it either did so very slowly or not at all. When I turned off the Ransomware shield, everything returned to normal. Is anyone else having this problem?

Those Captcha letters are nearly impossible to read. And nothing happens when I try to play the sound.
