Slow vps updates for submitted virus

Hi,
from yesterday in the morning i found some viruses that are not
detected by Avast ( linux and Windows version - def 14031000 and
14031003 also ) and i reported these with the
tool /var/lib/avast/Setup/submit and with the link
http://www.avast.com/contact-us.php?subject=VIRUS-FILE .

Today 24 hours later the virus is not detected yet :frowning: .

The virus arrives by mail with a double extension like:

unzip -l zip1.zip

Archive: zip1.zip
Length Date Time Name

300245 03-10-2014 10:14 IMG_07089_10032014.JPG.exe

300245 1 file

Is it possible to have an option to block double extensions or activate
a more aggressive heuristic ( of corse also for linux avast 1.0.6 )?

These things happen very often :frowning: and the time between the submission of a news virus and the detection by the news vps cannot happen in 2/4 days or the infection are propagated.

Any suggestion how to report the virus more quickly ?

Thanks

Have you tested that file at www.virustotal.com ?..post link to scan result here

You can send file to avast lab, using one of these options

You can upload files and report issues to avast here : http://www.avast.com/contact-form.php (select subject according to Your case)

You can use mail
send to virus@avast.com in a password protected zip file
mail subject: False Positive / undetected sample (select subject according to your case)
zip password: infected

or you can send files from avast chest
