… over the last month observed; especially the time to open first page in the browser window after computer started, it can take now maybe one or two minutes. (the following surfing then is normal)
I had this (among others) some years ago already, and you helped me here in this forum. After cleaning, the first browser page then started immediately.
So could you help me again pls?
I am using win xp 64-bit, and the last IE version 8 for it (…and would like to do so for some reasons).
Last time here in the forum, it was found, that only AVAST free version 8 (not newer) works with my OS and IE without issues.
Sometimes (if IE 8 is no longer supported), I am using SeaMonkey or Chrome.
I am attaching the logs, as suggested, from today.
Nothing readily apparent so it may just need a defrag and tidy up
Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.
[*]Close all open programs and internet browsers.
[*]Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
[*]Click on Scan.
[*]After the scan is complete click on “Clean”
[*]Confirm each time with Ok.
[*]Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart.
[*]Please post the content of that logfile with your next answer.
[*]You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[S0].txt as well.
I scanned with AdwCleaner, and cleaned afterwards.
However, it didn’t re-boot automatically - and no txt appeared, after I manually restarted…
…but I found the log in that mentioned folder, and attached it.
So far, no change: The time until the first page in IE browser opens is still the same. (ca. 3 minutes, I checked it this time)
But - as I wrote - it’s only such long the first time after the computer starts, and only for the IE. If there is no serious things, like you said - maybe its connected with the time to enable the first LAN connection?
