Slow'ish page loading

I did upgrade to IE10 on my W7 laptop and was, initially at least, under the impression that things were just that little bit faster re. page loading with the updated browser.

I also just upgraded AVAST’s AV with the latest version and like it on the whole.

However, I have now noticed that browsing seems roughly the same again as when I used IE9. I wonder if this is IE10 ‘slowing down’ after a few days or if it has something to do with the latest version of AVAST.

I can’t say for certain as both have been upgraded within a couple of days of each other but things seem to have noticeably slowed down.

I use Ccleaner and cleared files to no avail.

Maybe it could be your ISP, there are definitely times during the day when mine slows down due to congestion.

Could be. Must try with AVASt off for a comparison I guess.

A bit disappointed as IE10 was meant to be faster. Having said that a 20% speed increase is not ground breaking and increased traffic could well nullify that. Still …
