My avast free isn’t detecting it. Is there anything else that I can use to get rid of it or is it something that avast will need to be updated to get rid of?

I don’t prefer to go with 2-spyware.com’s recommendation as it directs you to download spyware doctor. But, I also would like to mention that it does say, at the end, to use malwarebytes - which is a good program.
Please download malwarebytes from here
Install, update to the latest database update.
Close all windows open except malwarebytes and run a quick scan.
Remove what ever has been found by malwarebytes and if asked to restart, restart.
Come here and post back the log. Use additional options while posting.
