Just had this come from Avast support …TRIED WHAT THEY SAID BUT IT STILL STICKS ON 43%, I GIVE UP !!
t sounds like some of the files of the antivirus are corrupted; I’d recommend to completely uninstall Avast using Uninstall Utility and then reinstall.
Note: if you have any other antivirus, or any other security software, please uninstall it/them completely, if possible.
Uninstallation procedure:
- Please use the Avast Uninstall Utility. You can download it at: http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avastclear.exe
- Run ‘avastclear.exe’.
- Press “Yes” when prompted to start Windows in Safe Mode and continue with the uninstallation.
- After uninstallation is complete, restart your PC.

Reinstallation procedure:

Download the latest version of Avast from the following link: http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_pro_antivirus_setup.exe

Save it on your Desktop.

Double-click on the installation file (avast_pro_setup.exe).

Follow the instructions on the screen and choose “30 day trial version”.

Finally, insert your license file to activate Avast to FULL VERSION. Your license file is attached to this email.
