Smart Scan Network Threats

Today my avast smart scan showed that I had a network threat. It’s described as “DNS servers configured on your network adapters are infected.” I have avast on three other computers. One of them was running a previous version and the network scan on the older version said it was fine. I updated avast and now it says the same thing as the other 2 computers (1 desktop, 2 laptops). The solution says to change DNS server to 8.8.8.8 which I did and I still get the same network threat. I scanned for malware with a few programs and nothing showed up. Is the threat a false positive related to a recent update or should I still be worried that my router is infected.

I had EXACTLY the same problem (including the code “HNS-201410-04”. Checked my router DNS settings, and it was OK (pointing to the servers I put manually there, they are from my ISP). Just to be sure I’ve changed the DNS to Google’s and retested, and got the same error in Avast. Changed back to the original ones then.

Looks strongly as a false positive, but it would be excellent if someone from Avast could confirm this.

Thanks! Eases my mind a little knowing that someone else has the same problem. I feel like it’s letting you know that these things COULD happen and not necessarily mean an actual infection. I tried enabling the secureline VPN setting then scanned and it was all clear. Disabled it and got the same threat warnings. Hopefully trying more of these setting suggestions like port forwarding and whatnot will fix it without having to use the avast VPN.

I am having the same issue here since yesterday. Been driving me nuts, and can´t seem to solve it.

Updated firmware, changed from OpenDNS to GoogleDNSs, scan with Malwarebytes, AdwCleaner, and still having that warning.
Probably a false positive, but I am not fully relaxed yet.

This is an Avast error and a fix will shortly be released

Have Avast Premier, ran Smart Scan on PC and the following message popped up:
DNS servers configured on your network adapter are infected.

HNS-201410-04 Is there a fix?

Hello!

Essexboy, thanks! Please, if possible, let us know when it’s resolved so we can update Avast and retest.

Mezzs, I thank you for the same reason: when I got the message and started to search about it, I was a little desperate. But then, when I found your message, I calmed down a little for the same reason you did.

Regards
