SMS & Call Filter - How to disable?

I don’t think I understand this feature . . . my best friend called and “left” a voice mail message. Avast showed a text that if I wanted to read the message to call this number . . . when I called the number I got the message that there was one message but that it couldn’t be downloaded. I’m confused! I guess I want to disable this feature because I don’t understand it! Any suggestions please?

Hi,

I’m not really sure I understand the scenario described, but there is an “Offer to block messages” in the app Settings, I think you want this turned off (unchecked). Then the SMS/Call filter won’t prompt you for anything, it will just allow/block based on your filter settings.

Thank you! I’m confused as to what happened as well. I have used Avast! for years on my PC and thought it was great when they advertised for one on my smartphone. When I set it up I checked pretty much everything. I got a call from my best friend (I knew it was her calling because of the ringtone, but couldn’t get to the phone in time) and right after got this popup in my text messages that “xxxx has sent you a sprint voice message. Call xxx to listen, MMSN.” There was some kind of numbers code after that message. I recognized my friend’s phone # in the message co I called the number to listen. The recording said that there was 1 message but that it couldn’t be retrieved. I don’t understand why this even was flagged/blocked by Avast! because her phone number is in my contacts. I really don’t want every voicemail from a known number to go to yet another phone number for me to call to retrieve. Does this make any more sense? Thanks for any light you might be able to shed!

Hi,

not really. If the message was really “xxxx has sent you a sprint voice message. Call xxx to listen, MMSN.” then it’s 99% not avast! doing this since messages like are definitely not in avast! Mobile Security and I’m 99% sure they are not in avast! Anti-Theft as well.

Do you or your friend use Sprint? Since this looks like their job: http://8help.osu.edu/2783.html or http://community.sprint.com/baw/thread/39872
