SMS commands work like on/off switch?

Hi,

In testing Avast Anti-Theft features I’ve sent a LOST SMS to my phone, it locked as configured (and expected :slight_smile:
I then entered the unlock code on the phone and started using it normally. A couple minutes after it locked again (and I received another lock confirmation SMS on the phone that sent the lost sms). Is this normal?
Again I entered the unlock code on my phone and again a couple of minutes the same thing happened - phone locked and another lost confirmation sms received on the phone that sent the lock command.
This repeated for 4 or 5 times until I sent (from the first phone) a FOUND SMS.

Is this normal behavior? Does the LOCK/LOST command (and maybe more) work like an on/off switch or the lock SMS is a one time operation?

Real scenario, I loose my phone. From my friend’s phone I send a LOST SMS and my lost phone gets locked. I find my phone and enter the unlock code. Was expecting this would me the end of it. Or do I have to send a FOUND command?
I do recall having some network problems when I did this test so I’m not sure if what I experienced is the expected behavior (keeps locking until a found command is sent) or if network problems (with the sms gateway of my mobile operator) duplicated sms’s and phone kept getting locked.

Could someone please enlighten me?

Hello,

on unlocking the phone with your pin code there should be no more locks coming up.
All I can think of is that your network provider delivered the sms with the lock command more than once - which is likely since you experienced network problems.
I also can’t reproduce the problem here.

hi,
my cell phn is nokia c-6 i had downloaded theft aware from nokia ovi store, aftr tht i flashed my phone because of virus so i lost that application. after that when i changed my sim card the sms from the application of theft aware is still sending sms on my registered number and when i tried to download theft aware again, it shows me error i dont know why? so i have to stop the sms which is send automatically from theft aware when i switch off or switch on my phone, so please kindly help me that how i can stop this procedure and how i can download theft aware again… so waiting for your quick reply.
