I want to block spam sms. I try to add new group to filter. But what does mean “all hidden numbers” and “all unknown numbers”?
Spam sms are sent from 4-digit numbers or even non-numeric numbers. How can I block them?
Hi,
All hidden numbers - all messages coming from “unknown number”
All unknown numbers - all numbers NOT in your contact list
You should be able to pick those spam SMS from the list of your messages. You can also try to experiment with advanced option in “custom number” allowing you to use wildcards (although it doesn’t allow you to insert characters, only digits).

Hi Filip,
No I can’t pick up from list. If I tap on it, group members remains 0
Can you provide us a typical case with print screen?
Well, I have Russian UI, so actual messages may differ due to my translation.
Call/SMS filter - I select here already created group - Group members - Add new member(green button) - Pick from SMS/MMS - I select one from list - and it returns to previous screen with green button, and new member is not added.
I can add new member if he has normal number, but I can’t add if he has 4-digit or non-numeric number.
But, there is no need to block normal numbers, because spam is going only from 4-digit and non-numeric numbers.
I have LG Prada 3.0 and Android 2.3.7 if it helps.
We’ll take a look at it.

Can you form in blacklist with letters (no only digits) and get senders from sms-list.
My idea:
within avast open copy of messaging list with check-boxes. If I mark some dialogs they will be hide (in original sms client) and all sms from this senders will be blocked.
In play market found Vault application and create sms blocking same method.
Well, Russian UI do not mind, if you can replicate it, please share a screen. We met it before and should be fixed now…
I tap on sms on the last screen (next message) , and it returns to first.

I have set Avast to block all Unknown sms messages. It blocked a test from yahoo with number 924-665-01, but it did not block a test from aol with number 265060. 25060 is not on my contact list, so any idea why it wouldn’t block this one?
Try to block “All hidden” numbers, it works for me, but it requests each time. Though I would like to block short and non-numeric numbers without requests, but seems this feature don’t work yet.
Hi,
note that some “SMS” are in fact disguised cell broadcasts and blocking of such is possible only on some devices (really OS dependent) and senders of those can have both short and non-digit numbers. There should be a note about that in the next version as well as the ability to choose short/non-digit numbers from SMS list.

If I add in group from sms/mms the textfom sender I don`t add in this list
