Running up-to-date Win 7/64 and AIS v8.
Internet explorer keeps getting hijacked tosnap.do - despite my changing settings back away from it, and snap.do appears in the programs list and cannot be uninstalled from Windows Control Panel | Programs (uninstall doesn’t do anything). Something has corrupted/removed my old Windows file(s) so I can’t restore to an earlier date, either.
However, Avast! does not report anything wrong - even after a boot scan, and I can’t find it manually or on a windows search (Start | Find set to ignore indexing).
Another post suggested going to the snap.do website for directions on removal, which seems rather like picking up a rattlesnake to ask how to treat a bite, so I don’t think I’ll try that!
Any suggestions?
run AdwCleaner…click delete and reboot…is it gone ? http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0
also do a quick scan with Malwarebytes…click remove selected if anything is found
Hi,
Snapdo didn’t hijack your browser. You must have downloaded it when you installed another program. It happens all the time – freeware often comes bundled with other programs. Uninstalling it shouldn’t be difficult. Try contacting their support team: contact@snap.do
