Sober-P?

Just wondering are we protected from the new Sober-P virus? Read it was just found today May 2nd, 2005 and didn’t see it listed under the VPS History page anywhere.

Yesterday, I got an alert from the official Dutch warning service (Waarschuwingsdienst):

Virus Sober S, Sober-N, Sober.O ; MS Windows;
spreading fast via email attachments, websites and SMS.
Do not click on the following attachments:

autoemail-text.zip

  • LOL.zip
  • mail_info.zip
  • okTicket-info.zip
  • Fifa_Info-Text.zip
  • account_info.zip

Anyway, be careful with attachments >:(

I just received another warning that Sober-P, which is a variant of the Sober viruses I mentioned before,
is now spreading very fast.

It may use other zipped attachments now as well.

As long as you do not click on the attachments nothing will happen. Verify with the senders of the emails !

I just read on another forum that avast! is calling it Sober-N and was added yesterday. ;D
