software exception 0xc000070a

received “unknown software exception 0xc000070a occurred in application at location 0x7741ca6d” at bootup this morning. Avast GUI ‘says’ all is fine, but it’s concerning to get this message. I saw 2 posts from users with this same problem but didn’t see a resolution. Someone did suggest to do a Repair thru Control Panel and if that doesn’t work, then do a clean install. Wanted to find out more information before doing this.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Avast version: 2015 Premier 10.2.2218
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1
HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware version 2.0.4.1028 - Malwarebytes Corporation - 2.0.4.1028

Have you tried another reboot to see if the same happens again?

You also have an outdated Malwarebytes, latest is 2.1.6.1022

Thanks CraigB. I’ve not yet done another reboot, but will shortly and reply with results. Yes, Malwarebytes is outdated. I update when I run my weekly scan  Off to reboot and then will post results.

ha! well whatever it was is now fixed - at least I didn’t get another exception error on boot up. wonder if anyone knows what it was?
Thanks again, CraigB!

Not a problem, I didn’t have to do much ;D

sometimes, stating the obvious is all it takes ;D
