Why does the software updater not recognize latest version of adobe reader XI I have version 11.0.4 Avast says I have 11.0.3.37 Did a program update still the same. Thanks
I had something like that too and found out it had to do with the Adobe reader update.
Could be you are experiencing the same thing.
What solved it for me is this:
- removed Adobe reader entirely (files + registry entries)
- rebooted
- checked if really everything was removed.
- installed Adobe Reader (latest version)
To me it seems the real problem is not avast but the Adobe updater.
It said “program already installed”.
Ofcourse it was already installed, I was trying to update the Adobe Reader not installing it!
