Software Updater Issue

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but:

Avast Software Updater is telling me that Flash Player Activex (Windows 8) needs updating from 19.0.0.207 to 19.0.0.226
When I click update, update fails. When I go to Control Panel>Programs and Features, there is no ActiveX listed. Is there a way to fix this?

Go to adobe flash player site and download latest

Can you link me? I can’t seem to find the download site for it.

Edit: I don’t use IE.

  1. https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html

  2. It doesn’t matter if you use IE or not it is integrated into the OS, so you need to keep it up to date.

There is no activex download for the link you posted.

I think you need to look again, all download links are given within what DavidR has linked for you.

Flash Player 19.0.0.226
Flash Player 11.2.202.540 (Linux)
Flash Player 18.0.0.255

These are the only ones I see.

So download the exe installer for Windows Internet Explorer.

The Installation encountered errors:

Your Microsoft Internet Explorer browser includes the latest version of the Adobe Flash Player built-in. Windows update will inform you when the new versions of the Flash Player are available.

What version of Windows are you running? if it’s Windows 8 or 10 then it looks after itself, Flash Player for lower Windows versions can be checked via the Flash Player tab in control panel for the version currently installed…if you have the latest then Avast is detecting wrongly.

Running Windows 8.1
Flash Player is up to date.

Think a picture of my problem might help things.

As I said earlier…Flash Player Active X for Windows 8 and 10 look after themselves, you cant update them as they are done via the Windows Update function which is why you got the error when trying to install.

Try the refresh option and see if that fixes your problem.

Refreshing didn’t help. I guess avast is just detecting wrongly.

One of the reasons I don’t install the software updater module
