Ran SU/SD and another window opened…with a blank screen.

Looks like an add gone wrong, e.g. no associated data being retrieved.

I have see something offering the automatic update (only in paid versions), but from memory the data that should have been displayed was the list of software being monitored. What I don’t know is if that might have changed in the Beta version that you are using.

Like David said : most likely an advertisement for Avast Premier gone wrong in this Beta.
