Software Updater stuck on "installing"

The software updater in Avast is telling me that Adobe Reader is “installing”.
I have restarted the computer and uninstalled and re-installed the software updater component to no avail.
I also manually updated Adobe Reader, but it still says installing.
Meanwhile, it won’t let me update any other software.

Any ideas?

I registered just to answer this question as I figured it out.

Go to Avast > Settings > Software Updater > Database Reset > Reset Database Now and you should be fine.

mine just says “software health disabled” cant get it to work, just stopped worked for some reason.
