Software Updater

Software updater states that there is an update for Java Runtime environment 7. When I try to update I get the message:

“Error 1500. Another installation is in progress. You must complete that installation before continuing this one.”
As I have only started one installation I am puzzled. Does anyone have any ideas how to install the latest version of the Java Runtime environment please?

try uninstall first…then install again

Controlpanel > ad/remove programs
