Avast team or forum friends, could anyone tell me why Avast Software Updater takes a long time to update programs?
Attached I have a list of programs that are out of date on my computer and another image of Avast stating that there is no program to be updated.
Knowing that Avast reports that everyone is updated, but I know it is not. Why does Avast take a long time to appear and inform me that I have outdated programs?
Does the program database for Avast update have problems or is it slow?
Thanks for the link.
Another question, why doesn’t Avast update many programs and why does it take a long time to update?
Could it be that the Avast database for updating these programs is small?
Avast provides updates for only a few programs. They choose which ones. We don’t. Primary focus for Avast is protection from all forms of malware and not (all) obsolete programs.
Avast can’t police all of the programs out there.
Has the user no responsibility in ensuring the programs they install are up to date.
Assuming those programs are still being updated, I have some that aren’t and I take responsibility for those or uninstall them and find an alternative.
Windows 10 is possibly the biggest at some point in the future MS will stop updating that unless you either pay or move to Win11 or Win12 by that time.
Avast can update, if not all, a large piece of software like Kaspersky does. on the Kaspersky forum there is a giant list of software that Kaspersky updates. avast could do the same.
I agree that the user has no responsibility for updating the programs. That’s why security software could mitigate this problem as much as possible, as Kaspersky does.
Regarding Windows, I’m not talking about native applications, so there’s no need to go to Windows 11 for the programs to be updated.
Yes, I’m talking about other AVs that have this functionality, a positive point for other AVs, now what’s the cost of Avast being able to do the same or even better?
