Soldiers Died In The Great War CD-ROM

I have used this programme CD-ROM with avast for over a year now but suddenly it will not function, telling me that there is a debugger running.

I returned it to the supplier who said there was no fault with it and I should try loading it with the anti-virus protector turned off. I tried this and it loaded and functioned perfectly, I turned the anti-virus back on and it still worked ok but when I re-booted the computer the following day the problem returned.

I have been advised that it may due to an update to the Avast Free Antivirus which is clashing or blocking the programme being installed or run.

Can you please advise

Thank you

Set a exclusion for it and/or disable the behavior shield.

How do I do this please

I am sorry to report that this did not correct the problem

Did you disable the behavior shield ?

I have the same problem on my new Win10 machine. The program worked with no problems on my last machine (upgraded to Win10), but on my new machine it gives the “debugger” error. For what it’s worth, I’m using the Free version.

I have made a general exception to both the desktop shortcut and the Program Files (x86) folder, and also an exception in the behaviour rules.

Still it happens.

I have been in touch with N&MP who sell the program, and their customer services guy is at a loss (he has said that he will contact the programmers, to see if they have any ideas).

Did the original poster get the program to run (incidentally, all the other programs that I have from N&MP - War Diaries; Campaign Medals; Silver War Badge; Trench Maps 1 & 2 - all work with no problems)?

Any ideas from anyone here on how I can get it to run, if the “exclusions” doesn’t work?

Thanks
Steve

Try running the program in Compatibility Mode. If it worked in a prior version, assign that version.

You could also try the Compatibility Troubleshooter in Windows 10

Just type Compatibility into the search bar and it will bring it up.
