Soluto is interesting…after a PC start-up, it tells you what programs took up a what amount of boot time. So you can see what is causing your PC to be slow. Then, you can see recommendations from other users about what you should do: change it to manual start, delay start, or let the program boot normally. All in an easy, nice looking interface. It’s just in beta now, but it is still useful and I have it on my PC.
I had Soluto install it took my PC 1:46 and I’ve pause 8 application from the No-brainer section reboot my PC and it taking 1:27, I didn’t see much of a different if my PC was booting any quicker or any slow down problem ;D any way I keeping this too it looks really cool.
I’ve just broken another speed record and my PC boot-up and fully operational in 1min and 17sec :o and didn’t realised it was booting up that reasonably quick :o :o :o :o :o :o, while I was watching it believe me it getting a bit quicker ;D 8) 8) now I understand why I love my user name as SpeedyPC ;D ;D ;D
It’s been on my systems for quite a while already and does an excellent job.
The boot times have all increased since using this free product.
I’m tickled pink with it. ;D
I didn’t find that it made a huge difference for me, not to mention I already have a means of delaying starts for some applications in my WinPatrol Plus and I can vary the delay.
I had Soluto and it delayed my system bootup too much and as I have WinPatrol PLUS that provides much better control I find that it is much better than Soluto. 8)
I also have Winpatrol Plus but analyzing startup programs isn’t really it’s function.
It lists them, enables delaying them and allows removing them but not analyzing.
I think this is probably another one of those programs that if you like it and find it helps,
use it. If not … Oh well. ;D
No it doesn’t do any analysis and honestly I don’t see it needs to. If you have programs that you want to start automatically, but you don’t want to run immediately on boot, then you can easily delay them and analysis for that isn’t needed.
Tried using it under w7x64 and didn’t start out so well (fig 1). Followed instructions and got it to install; all it would ever tell me was how good it would be if I would restart. Did that a few times and gave up. Unistalled, and it left behind a driver PCGenFAM.sys, which does not actually get loaded-presumably because the demander has been removed (fig 2 from ProcessHacker). A search with Google points to this routine as the source of BSODs in the past. Not blocked in OA log, not idea why it never worked. GOOD LUCK!
Tried again after uninstalling Soluto, and this time no “unable to install” message and generally worked as advertised. So nice utility to see what your boot looks like and maybe get rid of some things that are causing delays.
