Solved Avast 6 and internet explorer 8

Hello!
I had configured the internet explorer so that it deletes temporary internet files after I close it. If I install latest version of avast temporary files are not anymore deleted after I close internet explorer. I can only delete temporary files by using windows disk clean up utility. I use the following version of internet explorer:
Version: 8.0.6001.18702
Does any one else have had same problem?

Best regards

On My other computer No this doesn’t happen.

Greetings!

Welcome to the Avast Forum!

Best guess is because IE is so embedded into Windows, and because all Anti-Virus programs make many important changes to Windows as security systems are monitored, that IE 8 and Avast may need those files to work together in the Temporary Storage area. The Temp files make the pages open up a little faster when they are cached like that.

However, remember that when you are updating major programs like MS products such as IE, (any version) MS Office (any version) or any Anti-Virus’ install or update, you are not just updating those programs. You are updating Windows and IE works under the hood with many MS products, Anti-Virus programs, and Windows. All of this stuff is networked and integrated.

If you are not having specific problems with Avast, IE, or the Temp Files, don’t worry about some of the files not clearing out on IE’s close. No two computers are ever configured the same way with the same software. Therefore as long as Avast, IE, and Windows are doing their jobs, you’re fine.

You are doing the right thing by cleaning out your History, Cache and running disk clean up from time to time. Weekly to bi-weekly is good. That clears excessive build up. Just don’t delete your cookies (unless forced to do that for a specific problem), or you will have to go back and re-enter ALL your screenames and passwords for every site you visit.

You might want to download Ccleaner http://filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
and/or WinUtilities Free http://download.cnet.com/WinUtilities-Free-Edition/3000-18512_4-75021441.html
Both are worthy downloads with CCleaner being used by most forum members.
