[Solved] Avast IS 2014 tray icon fails to respond!

Hi,

I’m experiencing a problem with Avast tray service. It does’n respond at all (double click, right click)! I’m able to access Avast UI via desktop icon. I tried to repair Avast, it done successfully, but the issue still remains! It reacts normal when Avast is scanning something.

Anyone has encountered this weird issue? It’s not a big problem, but what is the cause of it?! :-\

  • use avast clear to completely remove avast
  • reboot
  • run CCleaner
  • reboot
  • install avast
  • reboot

See if that solves it

I had this issue… It fixed itself for me after like 2 or 3 restarts of the computer.

The download location for the avastclear.exe, uninstall utility for avast 9.0 - http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avastclear.exe.

Ok, I follow these steps:

  1. Downloaded avast 9 remover.exe
  2. Restarted PC in Safe Mode, than run the remover. Avast gone!
  3. Restarted PC in Normal Mode, than installed new Avast IS, a fresh copy.

Until this, everything went fine. But, when I checked the Firewall, and it requested me to restart PC, that issue appeared again! :o

So, definitely it’s a bug! Like Coolmario88 said above, I’ll be patient, maybe it will fix itself after future updates. :slight_smile:

Reboot 2 more times. For some that solved the problem

In Win 7, log off and then log on. This seems to be the workaround until something better comes along.

Wow, it works now, after an Log off/Log on.

It also makes a problem with the Network Notification Icon as well !
