solved: decompression Bomb with avast 2014 release 3 Beta 1

HI I did a quick scan with Avast 2014.9.0.2014 Beta 1 tonight after the quick scan was done a window came up saying that some files could not be scanned their in the window their was a warning saying that these files could not be scanned next to that it said ERROR: file is a decompression Bomb what I would like to now is are these files a sighn of malware or a virus. Should I be concerned about this when it says these files are a decompression bomb. where are the scan logs kept is their any way I can send the scan log.

Thanks.

Decompression bomb just means the files/archives/SFX get unpacked into unreasonably large file. Though it’s not impossible that avast! is detecting something wrong…

So what I would like to now if avast free is detecting these files as decompression bombs does that mean these files are malicious in nature. Is it anything to worry about. Please explain.

Thanks for your help

No, just highly packed archives.

Thanks Asyn for your reply and help.

Thanks again

You’re welcome Diddy.
