[SOLVED] Firewall is not installed

Avast Free Antivirus / Premium Security

I just bought Avast Premier for 3 PC’s
Installation PC1:

  • uninstall ZoneAlarm : no problems
  • install Avast Premier : no problems

Installation PC2:

  • uninstall ZoneAlarm : no problems
  • install Avast Premier : Firewall is not able to install.

I have tried search fot a solution within these forums, to reinstall, to repair, to disable some drivers for networking, but I am not able to get the Firewall software installed.

I will wait installing the Avast Premier software to PC3 until PC2 is running correctly.

How to fix this?

Repair avast!:

  1. Control Panel → Add/Remove programs → avast!
  2. Click on ‘Repair’.
  3. Follow instructions.
  4. Reboot.

But I already tried this and with no results.
Any other sugestions?

  • OS…?? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP…?)
  • Other security related software installed…??
  • Which AV(s) did you use before avast!..??

Hello Asyn.

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP 1
No other security software installed
Before I installed Avast I had running ZoneAlarm Pro AntiVirus + Firewall. ZA was completely uninstalled and PC was restarted before the installation of Avast.
Attached you will find the error log created after error instaling the Firewall.

  1. Download avast! Premier Antivirus: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_premier_antivirus_setup.exe
  2. Follow instructions: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed avast! versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall avast! with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.
