[Solved] Free license until 2017?

Hello all,

I got some questions in Japanese forum, saying “Free license suddenly got extended till 2017”.
I also confirm this on one of my computers.

Is this legit, or a bug or some sort of it?

Where is it showing that it is 2017 ?
How did you confirm it ?

Mine is the same as it was before, Avast UI > Settings > Registration.

Have any of those mentioning it changed their system date at any point recently ?

It is not a bug. It’s an experiment running on a random part of the users in selected countries - its goal is to get a better understanding of the long-term effects of the registration [requirement] on the users.
