G’day Essexboy,
My laptop model is ASUS G75VX-T4153H and it comes with W8 I’ve had this for nearly 3 years now, yesterday afternoon I’ve upgrade to W8.1 via MS store online and when they’ve gave me a free upgrade that I’ve completely forgotten about it. However MS has stop supporting windows update for W8 platform unless they upgrade to W8.1 so I did, the only problem I’m seeing after I’ve upgrade W8.1 is I’m not getting any security up patches for nearly 2 months via from the control panel through window update while I have internet connection online and I can still using firefox and other thing going online so no problems.
However their nothing wrong with Avast IS, MBAM and other security software they’ve automatically updated via internet online without any issue, so the only problem I’m seeing is the windows update not getting through so see two attached as request FRST.txt & Addition.txt and see if you can pin point the problem.
Also I can’t upgrade W10 for a while as I’m still on the pension and still out of work.
Cheers and thanks buddy Also if there anything else you need to check please let me know and I’ll run the tool as provided by you.
G’day Essexboy,
Here a screenshot showing where I can’t get through via windows update from the control panel.
Cheers

Nothing readily apparent however, it was a known problem… Try this fixit first https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/971058
G’day Essexboy and nope it didn’t work :-\
Nothing and I’ve got a bad feeling about this and I really don’t want to start from scratch again.

Of course with windows 10 you no longer get an error code, about as much use as a chocolate teapot
OK next would be to try windows all in one as I have had some limited success with that
Download Windows All In One Repair from Tweaking.com to your desktop
Install the programme
Reboot to safe mode with networking
Run Windows All In One
Select Step 2
Select open Pre-repairs scan then click scan
Let that complete
Save the results to a text file on your desktop

Next select Step 5 and back up the registry

Open the Repairs tab

Select the following repair numbers :
17 and 29
Set the system to reboot on completion
The press Start Repairs
