HI was wondering if I could ask a question.
I was wondering if Avast 7 will work on Windows Vista systems? I was just curious because Google quit updating Google desktop for Windows Vista systems. So now I am scared that if Google can quit making certain google products I just wanted to make sure that avast will make avast 7 compatible for Windows Vista systems? I would appreciate an answer to this question please.

I have no doubts that Avast! will continue to support Vista…years into the future, at least. They still support Win2K.
The Google/MS thing is probably just more of the same little pi$$ing contest they have been at for awhile.

Considering avast! 4.8 is still operational and nothing shows it will ever stop lol, you really don’t have to worry about avast! supporting Vista. There is still Windows XP that has to go away before Vista support will stop. Plus, Vista has a very similar architecture to Windows 7 and Windows 8 so i wouldn’t really worry about it for the next 8-10 years unless something big changes in the mean time…
BTW, Google Desktop is gone not just for Vista, but it’s gone for any Windows.

Well, that was exactly my point: Google Desktop will no longer be developed, nor support will be offered, and is not available for official download (for any and all versions of Windows).
Or maybe the way I wrote my previous post could be interpreted differently and I’m not seeing it? :-[ If that’s the case, please accept my apologies if I caused any confusion.

I think Yokenny was just providing confirmation of what you said and further pointing out that it is not just to do with Vista.
