[SOLVED] Problem updating Mozilla Thunderbird

Hello, I got a message that Avast Free Antivirus 21.5.2470 (versie 21.5.6354.675) isn’t able to update Mozilla Thunderbird (TB): “Something went wrong and the update failed. Try it again.”
TB has already the most actual version [78.11.0 (64 bits)]. So this message isn’t usefull, but did not disappear.
It only disappears when I uninstall TB.
Is it an bug?

Confirmed, same here. I put TB on the ignore list (for now).

Also confirmed.

Confirmed for both (avast free win 10 20H2) and avast premium (win10 21H1).

Happened to me as well. I also put it on the ignore list.

The same issue above and I’m sure Avast will fix it ASAP!!!

Personally I don’t depend on these Avast Program updates, but do my own manual program updates for those programs I use frequently.

I also monitor the >> Updates << topic https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=9671.0 which gives Updates to hundreds of updates not covered by the few monitored by Avast.

I reported it yesterday (via Slack) and the devs are checking it.

Also getting this bug. Stuck Thunderbird onto the ignored software list.

Still an issue after updating to Thunderbird 78.12 yesterday.

This appears to have spread to Firefox, telling me there is an update available when I have the latest version.

So two for two on Mozilla products, I disabled checking on Thunderbird, looks like I’m going to do this for Firefox. Gets to the point that I may just remove/disable this component.

Doing a Check For Updates now indicates all programs are up to date.

Dev-Info: We have implemented some patches in the meantime, the vps module (new Software Updater module) was already released to the public.

As you can see, the problem is solved. Thanks
