Hi everyone
i come accross a topic in the forum where many people reported that the behaviour shield not working properly. so i went to investigate and found out that not only the behavior shield, my Mail shield and IM shield also reads scaned item 0.
can somebody explain this…
Have (or did) you another Anti-Virus installed in this system, if so what was it and how did you get rid of it ?
Given the other topic you created (possibly related to this, should probably be in the same topic) it could be that the above is the issue.
Shields only scan if they are monitoring activity, email or IM application and then only oif they are supported IM applications and you don’t give any information.
What is your email program and/or are you using web based email ?
Are you using an IM and if so what is it ?
The Behaviour Shield has nothing to monitor in 64bit OSes currently it is there, but there are no specific rules for 64bit.
Behavior Shield does not work on Windows 7 64bit yet.
What Mail client do you use?
I use Windows Live Mail.
I don’t use an IM often but Windows Live Messenger worked fine when I tested it.
well this might be it. i use gmail as an email service n i use google talk for chating…again what is IM stands for anyway…
If you don’t know what IM is then I somehow doubt that you are using an IN (Instant Messaging) application, so I wouldn’t expect and activity in the shield.
The question then is do you view your email via your browser (web based/webmail) and not through an email program ?
Thats right i view email through a browser (mainly FF)? is not gmail an email program???
No gmail is an email service, it provided the email address and storage for your email. You either use a browser to view it on the web or an email program to download the email and view it in the email program.
ok thats why these shield shows everything 0 because there has been no activity…
