Some problems on Windows 8.1

Hi all, I’ve done a clean install of windows 8.1 on my laptop yesterday and I’ve noticed some problems.

  1. Avast online security plug-in is signed as incompatible with IE 11
  2. I can’t do a backup of avast settings.
Someone have any solution for this??
Instead of avast on my home PC, I’ve noticed positively that pop-up and sound works rightly on virus database update.

Strange… I have W8.1 and the avast! plugin is there on IE 11. Also, I’ve tested the backup and it’s working here.
Can you try an installation from scratch?

It’s definitely incompatible with the protected mode (which somehow seems to be the default in IE11).

I’ve decided to re-do a clean install of win8.1 and now everything works rightly…I don’t know what to think :o

I have Win 8.1 with IE 11 as well. When I start IE 11 it takes forever to load a page. I disabled all addons and it works fine. When I enable the add-ons, one by one, Avast is the add-on that is causing the slow down.

In toolbars and extensions there are four (4) instances of Avast! Online security. I have to disable all of them to get IE 11 to work properly.

I spoke too early…IE11 now tells me again that Avast Online Security is incompatible…but what happens??

As noted above, it is NOT compatible with the enhanced protected mode. ATM and given the flood of complaints about IE + the addon, I’d strongly suggest to leave the thing off.

I assume you’re referring to leaving “enhanced protected mode” off…? How do you toggle EPM?

Thanks.

EDIT: I found it in IE advanced options. My EPM is off and I’m still having issues with Avast and IE 11 / WIn 8.1

In IE settings, security tab. Once again, not what I’d suggest to do.
