Someone hacked my account

Someone tried to hack my credit union account and luckily someone at my financial institution let me know right away that someone was trying to steal money from my account and I been using this free anti virus for over 4 years and it looks like I need to cancel this free subscription!

I don’t believe that Avast Free offers this function, but I have only been using it for over 20 years.

Unless that act was to take you or whomever was attempting this to a malicious site, Avast would be none the wiser about this attempt. Even less so if the attempt wasn’t being made from ‘your’ computer.

Unlike the credit union Avast doesn’t hold information on your account where it could make this determination.

Are you sure the alert came from your credit union? Hackers often use ploys exactly as you describe to get you to enter banking details.

Very good point, as replying could provide more data to gain access.
