i have included a screen shot as my pc was still loading up.
first my pc specs.
dell dimension 2400
2 gigs ram
70 gig hard drive
windows XP home sp3 (windows updates always up to date).
comodo firewall free(most recent version).
i made sure my pc was clean before i upgraded so i have no bugs.
i upgraded to avast 7 from the old 6.0 avast , avast 6.0 said there was a program update so i updated to avast 7 that way , so this was not a fresh install.
i thought the upgrade went just fine , there was no hiccups during the whole process, even let it(avast free) restart my pc , cuz it said so . all this was yesterday 2-24-12.
now i get this pop up this morning “complete your upgrade to avast 7 , your almost done press the finish button to complete the upgrade” , i thought ok, so i hit finish, even tho i did all this yesterday . today is 2-25-12.
so i let 45 minutes go by, i just left my computer alone and online.
so i go to restart my pc for the heck of it , and guess what?, the same pop-up appeared, i think this is a bug , cuz i restarted my pc 3 times after that.
that pop-up should never appear no more, plus if i dont hit the finish button, the avast wont finish loading up, leaving my pc not protected.
i have included a screen shot as my pc was still loading up.
i guess i’m too stupid, did all that and no go , and cant find , avast should of fixed this problem, and should of realized this bug before hand.
this is a bug and avast should be the one to fix it, i guess i have to hit the finish button every time i start up my pc, i sure hope avast fixes this bug.
just curious, how is avast 7 working for you right now ?.
every one is having big major problems with avast 7 final .
i figured out how to get rid of the nag screen , once i figured out a couple of things from this link that “ady4um” gave me. so that part is fine now, loads up fine.
but i noticed that the new avast 7 is buggy, had to disable the “auto sandbox” thing for now , but i’m having trouble with the manual update, maybe the servers are loaded too full, who knows. i will try the manual update tomorrow sometime, when the servers are not loaded, so who knows.
i wish the Avast team would of tested this out alittle longer before they released it as final , hope to god i can get a hold of my uncle soon , cuz he has avast 6 installed, got to tell him to hold off on the program update before its too late.
i’m not going back to avast 6, after reading alot of recent threads , my pc might be doomed, but my pc is acting fine at the moment, knock on wood.
so the question to the creators of Avast 7 free, are you working on a fix on all these problems ?, are you going to come up with a emergency fix update ?.
if avast free dont work right , how do you expect us to be future buyers $$$$ of your other programs.
