Hi folks. My computer is acting funny. Lately my Adobe software stopped functioning properly and my windows keep closing without being told to. Also windows get locked in the taskbar and I can’t reopen them or they won’t work. So I keep pressing Cntrl-Alt-Delete to close these programs that stop functioning or when windows won’t open. That might be why my ftp software isn’t working to well.
I ran HJT and the online log analyzer came up clean. I ran SuperAnti Spyware and Malware Bytes. Somehow SPYBOT S&D reinstalled itself. Super Anti-Spyware andSpybot S&D came up clean. Also all my desktop icons have moved…. Really odd. Does anybody know what is up with me?
I attached my freefixer log, highjack this log I ran spybot even though I don’t recall reinstalling it. ???
Let’s trouble shoot to see what is going on. First I need to know the following:
What is your OS, 32 or 64-bit?
What version of Avast do you have?
What product of Avast did you install? Free, Pro, AIS?
What other security software do you currently have or did you have in the past on this machine including antivirus (AV), firewall (FW), and other security programs (resident and on-demand)? If they were in the past, how did you remove them (the vendor’s uninstaller’s tool or another way)? You mentioned MBAM, SAS, Spybot SD (do you use TeaTimer?) Are any of these resident/Pro versions?
Are your MS Updates (if you have Windows) current?
Are your software updates current?
Are the Avast definitions (updates) current?
When was the last time you did any kind of scan in Avast, and if so what kind of scan was it? If you have not done an Avast Full scan, or Boot scan (if you have a 32-bit machine), please update your definitions, do the scans and post these results in your next post.
When did your problem begin? Do you recall what you did that prompted this problem to begin?
Please respond to the above questions as well as the Avast scan results in your next post.
Follow the directions of obtaining an MBAM log (make sure you update MBAM first) and OTL logs. NOTE: click on the red “OTL” to download the OTL log file. Post the MBAM log here (copy and paste) and the OTL log as an attachment (Additional Options in the bottom left corner under the message screen when posting). HJT is no longer being supported. What version of Avast do you have? Is it avast5, I think, it is the orange interface.
What product of Avast did you install? Free
whn I uninstall theses ant spyware programs, I usually use the unistaller. I don’t thnk I use teatimer. I just had spybot SD( ran it and it was clean so I reinstalled ad-aware2008 (free),. PC tools firewall plus(free), malware BYTES(free),SUPER ANTISPYWARE (free),
Are your MS Updates (if you have Windows) current? It runs updates on its own. I assume theses are up to date

i did the bootscan
i attached it, it removed 2 items from my c drive and other stuff i don’t use in my back up memeo thing. hope this helps. google chrome is not functioning great. i’ll see what u have to say. did i give you enough?thanks

What version of Avast 5 do you have? 5.0.594 or 5.0.677 or something else?
Your MBAM log is clean.
Did you do an Avast FULL scan, and if so did it put anything in the Chest?
You can uninstall Adaware since it is now obsolete and has been replaced with MBAM. If you do this, do it before doing your OTL log.
TeaTimer (TT) has created problems/conflicts for users with Avast. If you use it, you may want to disable/uninstall it…again do this before doing your OTL log.
Your machine obviously is not acting correctly despite my other suggestions above, so I suggest now that you run the OTL log from the link I gave you in my prior post and attach it (there will be 2 separate logs that you can attach to 1 post) > click "Additional Options > Attach > Browse (the logs will be on your desktop) > Post.

[*]Let the program run unhindered, reboot the PC when it is done
[*]Open OTL again and click the Quick Scan button. Post the log it produces in your next reply.

Download and run Puran Disc Defragmenter I would recommend that the first time you use the boot time defrag
