Sorry but have to ask ..........

Are these supposed to be set on manual? :-[

VBox is Virtual Box. Are you using Avast 2015?

I don’t know if they are meant to be set to manual or not - but one thing for sure, if set to manual and there is a program that requires it then it would/should be started manually by that program.

Setting to disabled is too risky if there is a program that uses it.

Setting it to Auto, generally wouldn’t be an issue other than using resources.

However, your image also shows it isn’t started ‘Service Status Stopped,’ so nothing has manually started it. That could mean there is no program/function that requires it or it should have been started.

Google the Service to get an idea of what it does and there is a site called http://www.blackviper.com/ that should be able to show A) what its default state should be (Auto, Manual, stopped, etc.) and B) what are safe options (which it usually says Manual).

Scroll down to Hyper-V Volume Shadow Copy Requestor and it is default is manual for Win8.1.

Yes, I’m using Avast 2015 but I don’t like it at all.

Hyper V is the native windows virtualisation programme and the default state is Manual (triggered)

Thank you essexboy.

Hi Michael,

Not all, but almost.
He is always waiting for the next question to be asked ;D
Thanks, essexboy, for all cleansing you performed for numberless victims.
They owe you a lot.

“They owe you alot”

Might be the understatement of the century? I think anyone who’s been helped by UNITE, owes them a lot. Keep this in mind. I’m sure, there are hundreds, if not thousands of cases, resolved a day.

Around here, some places offer assistance. One site, offers Spyware/Virus/Malware Removal @ $40/h (CAD)

Consider how much time it takes removers to create, remove and execute a script. They’d make a killing! Keep in mind also, that they, wouldn’t know how to operate FRST, OTL, Zoek or any other tool. They’d use MBAM, adwcleaner (Maybe, if they even know it exists) and maybe the AV solution installed on the PC.

Hats Off too All of you! (Essexboy, Valinorum, Naathum, TwinHeadedEagle, Magna86, Argus, Andrey, Pondus, Polonus, and all who help around here)
