Sorry for asking, but.. which is better: AVG 8 or avast?

Welcome to the forums and the avast family.

There are many more skins to choose from, certainly for the time being until version 5.0 when skins will no longer be available (third party skinning tool no longer available). Just right click in the middle of the ‘music player’ ;D and click select skin, then the Get more skins link.

Iep, it’s a typo, but is :
I use AVAST
When i useD AVG, was in Windows, and if i can remember i think was 7.2
(sorry a lot)

well avg never was better than avast…as i remember avast always has better results than avg in www.av-comparatives.org (now avg has a bit better results but its avg antimalware)…well an AV isnt good only for its detection…but for its features and its ease of use(avast is the god of freeware AV for these)…no need to mention about the support that avast has…im a nod32 user now(well maybe until the license key expires)so my opinion may be totally objective on that topic…if i was changing now i would install avast and now you know why… 8)

 ssupdatercom rates avast free 4.8 20% better than avg 8 free.
Also avg may find things but not remove them. ::slight_smile:

I actually think that a combination of both combined with Norton Antivirus and McAfee Antivurus would be best.
Since using all of these together will most likely prevent you from getting on the internet at all,
your most likely going to avoid getting any viruses or malware. ;D ;D ;D

hahahaha good one…hahaha…the ultimate protection…

i thing you are right he shouldn’t ask that question here its like going to a Chevy dealership and asking about a ford car.

i had norton 360 two years ago and i got a Trojan that crashed my PC lock it up allmost and the 360 never found it. i use roadrunner internet service and i called them and they help me load CA antivirus on my computer and it found the Trojan and delete it and got my system going again. norton 360 has a lot of good features but if it can’t detect Trojans and viruses so what good is it to you. ;D

Bob, you forgot the great help of Panda AV.

Sorry, let’s add that to the mix.

This should make every one happy:

With Sandboxie, Returnil + AVAST, you reduce greatly your risks of being infected
