Sorry, the SecureLine server has refused your licence file.

Hello,
Today I got home from work and upgraded my PC to the latest Windows 10 insider build - 14371.
Since completing the upgrade, Avast SecureLine presents me with the error message “Sorry, the SecureLine server has refused your licence file.”.

I have tried numerous fixes (see my Windows 10 and secureline post referring to registry fix) and although present with the capital T in aswtap, once changed, it didnt make a difference.
In another thread there was a small exe to download called ‘ifcleanup.x64’ which ive ran in admin mode and as reapplied my licence, rebooted, and still no effect.
My licence file is valid for another 270 days so I can’t see why this is happening since the new build, and never had any problems with previous Annaversary Update builds.

Would anyone, especially a moderater be able to see if it’s indeed been refused for whatever reason or its just a current Windows build problem?

Thank you all in advance,

Chris Cowell

New build - 14372 and same thing btw.

After a clean install of the latest insider build, the issue resolved itself

This, unfortunately, isn’t a new problem.
I just rolled back a Windows 10 Insider preview and also go that same message.
Repairing Avast has always resolved the problem and did again this time.

Repair Avast:
Control Panel> Program and Features (Add/remove program)>Select Avast> Select Repair. Reboot when completed

Hi, what version of Windows are you using please? Is it Windows 10? Also, please confirm if Bobs suggestion of Repairing works or not,

I look forward to your response,

Hi,

I have just received the same warning when I activate SecureLine. I have repaired the Avast install and rebooted my Win10 machine, but the problem persists. Any other suggestions… apart from submitting a support ticket…

This thread has been dead for about 6 months.
Please start your own and provide details.

If Repair doesn’t fix the problem, try the following:
Clean Install of Avast:

I had the same problem, however for me it was a simple matter of re-loading the licence file and it was ok after that.

I got it to work by setting program defaults

Go to Settings and there to troubleshooting

Restore factory defaults make sure that both boxes are checked (program and shield settings)

reset now and restart

It worked to me

I’m getting this refusing of licence file. I have tried repairing the product, reinstalling the component… everything.
I have logged 3 calls with Avast support but they just don’t respond… nothing!
I’m thinking the only option is to get a refund.
