Hello! I get sound distortion and lag spikes when just searching for a webpage on the internet. This seems to be caused by Avast. Anyone know what settings I will be needing to change or is Avast just a piece of crap?
First off we need to know what your system is and what version of avast you are using? please also include other security software installed on the system with avast and also list which software/program you are getting sound distortion from on which website in particular.
I have windows 8 as os and using the Internet security license. The reason I suspect Avast is because when I Uninstall Avast the lag spikes and sound distortion goes away. The lag occurs when I do anything at all. But it is not as noticeable if I don’t have any sound on as it seems like the sound distortion is caused by the lag. My bandwidth is 100/10.
Do you have the windows firewall active as well as the avast firewall ? if so try disabling the windows firewall.
If the only active firewall is avasts then try disabling it and enable the windows firewall and see if it makes a difference.
I would try both options. Disabling the Windows firewall is one option. If that doesn’t work, enable it again and disable
the avast firewall and see if that makes a difference.
There have been some issues reported about system usage and the avast! firewall.
