Sounds and Settings button on Vista

I’m right clicking the ‘a’ blue icon, choosing Program Settings, going to Sounds, clicking Settings button and nothing is happening on Vista Business x32.
What am I missing here? ::slight_smile:

I do on XP and it works: open sounds applet.
Bug? UAC is guilty… if so, shouldn’t the interface change on Vista?

I know the vista business is short on Home user features like media stuff, but I would have thought it would have the basics.

Can you not reach the Sounds and Audio Devices through Control Panel (or whatever it is called in vista).

Does it work if you access the same option from the Simple or Enhanced UI?

Yes, from both it works… but UAC in invoked previously when ashavast.exe starts…

Same here, but right clicking on the A ball and going to program settings, sounds, then clicking on settings does absolutely nothing no matter how many times I press it.

I’m running Vista H/P

I’m using Vista Business (German version) and all works fine, will say clicking on sounds → settings the sound-dialog pops up.

Its really like that in this version of avast!

But, you can use workaround:
Go to program settings/sounds via Simple user interface or Enhanced user interface.

Or, you can disable UAC set up what do you need and enable it again …

Can’t the button, inside of the avast GUI invoke UAC to ask for permission itself?

Starting the antivirus you’ll be asked by UAC before and then the popup comes.
The problem is when you try it from the system tray icon.

The problem will be fixed in the next program update…
