Is there anyway to change the womens voice that says(Virus Database has been Updated)i don’t mind it,but my wife hates it,anyway to change it.Thank You.Cumbrian

You can turn off the voiceovers. Settings → Sounds page.

What I want to know is why did they change the original voice over that was in 4.8 and before? I think the new one sucks, I hope they eventually give us the option to have the classic voice over.

The sounds of the program have been updated in the same way that the interface has…

There are still no voices for Avast 5 Russian and I want to put some questions.

  1. Is it possible to use Russian Avast 4.8 voices in Avast 5?
  2. Where can I get them?
  3. How can I install them in Avast 5?
  4. Or I’d better wait for the official voices for Avast 5 Russian?

From an install that had Russian Language selected.(that is assuming that they were there before --> Question 1)

You’re choice really, if you really want them, then why not…
Although, I am not sure how a change of language, and subsequently change of related sounds (when they arrive for you) willbe affected by having custom sounds…

I don’t understand you. I installed Avast 5 Russian but it has sounds (like a little hammer striking on a little metal bell - it sounds as if a client is calling a clerk at the reception in a hotel) and no voices (in 4.8 a male voice anounced that my DB is updated).

This is what I meant, in 4.8, were the voices in Russian? As that would have been the source for you to transfer them to avast! 5…

I can’t move any files from Avast 4.8. I uninstalled it just before Avast 5 installation. I couldn’t even think that the newer version will be speechless.

I had thought so…it may not be possible unless you get them off another install of the russian version somewhere else…
