In order to unmark SPAM I’ve had to being whitelisting the “behalf of” e-mail addresses
Now that is impossible in general, since I can’t control all the members of a yahoo group.
Is there a solution short of disabling SPAM detection?
My ISP has gone through a number of different spam filter clients over the years, and with one of them (I forget which) I’d periodically get incoming Groups mail bounced as being on their blacklist (which the end-user couldn’t modify) – not even quarantined, just bounced. And in a case like that, you get all your Groups memberships suspended. No fun at all, especially since I was a moderator at two groups and wasn’t getting notifications. I finally switched my Groups addy to my Yahoo Mail so I could get it reliably, until my ISP changed to a different client that didn’t exhibit that problem.
I don’t know if Alwil sets up their own blacklist for avast’s spam-blocking, or if they use (e.g. subscribe to) someone else’s. I’ve got the free version, so haven’t a clue what options are available for that blocker … I presume setting up your own whitelist isn’t one.
(Edit) My ISP has been using their current client (again, sorry I can’t remember which one) for 3 or 4 years now, and it’s only been the last 3 or 4 months that they finally figured out how to offer the option to separately whitelist mailing lists (i.e., where filtering has to be based on the To address (the group) rather than the From (the individual posting). I agree that it’s highly impractical if that feature’s missing and you have to OK each member’s addy, especially if it’s a large active group with hundreds or thousands of members.
