Is there a way to make Avast do all the special scans that occur during a Smart Scan like Check browser add-ons, network security and out dated software etc to occur regardless of whatever can you do; whether that is quick, smart or full? If not please add this feature because these special scans are what make avast so… special so you should make it easier for your customers to use them
Maybe this will help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q7gG6PAzC-o
This does not help me at all. I asked a completely different question. I want avast to automatically scan for out dated software, scan browser addons, and scan for network threats every time i do ANY scan; not just when i do a “smart scan”
The short answer is No there is no way to automatically run the Smart Scan or create a Custom scan including the options in the Smart Scan. There are no options in creating and customising a new scan task that equate to what the Smart Scan does.
Avast does automatically check for outdated software (without you having to do that). When Virus Definition updates are done there is (I believe) a list of software versions that avast monitors. That is then checked against what supported software you have installed. If an update is available for any of your software then a popup notifies you of the fact and you then elect to update them (or not).
Thank you DavidR for that precise answer. I do feel that the special scans are one of the reasons that makes avast so speical so consider adding the ability to have these scans “attached” to any scan type. Thanks
You’re welcome.
In all honesty, many of these elements in the Smart Scan are up to a point run once and not required, you don’t constantly need to scan your network if it was found to be OK.
In the same regard - With a resident (on-access) scanner the need for on-demand scans is much depreciated. For the most part dormant/inert files are being scanned, the other active files are going to be scanned by the resident shields when they are activated.
