When using Avast with my FiOS service the speeds are slower than what is commissioned. If I turn off the on access protection the speeds go right back to normal. 20 mbps down and 5 mbps up are what is intended but with Avast running I only get around 2 mbps down and 1 mbps up.
Maybe this is due to WebShield scanning. Does FiOS service uses an special http port or communication?
Not that I am aware of. Straight ethernet to the router, nothing else special. However with the web shield turned off it does work better.
